Internal Assessment

Semester 1

You must Design and Execute one experiment selected from the following objectives.

Each student must design and execute their own individual investigation.

The experiment should be designed such that it is possible to execute it at home. No time will be allowed in the lab for this experiment.

You must identify all the relevant variables in your experiment:

  • independent
  • dependent
  • controlled

A proposal containing an outline of your experiment, the list of variables and the procedure you plan to follow, must be submitted before October 31st.

You must write an individual lab report, according to the IB Internal Assessment Criteria.

Deadline: the lab report should be handed in to Rémi Poirier or Joanne Kettner before the last day of the semester (Wednesday December 9th).

Choose one of the following objective:

Topic 1:

Investigate one parameter influencing the size of a crater.

Topic 2:

Investigate one parameter influencing the motion of a ball dropping in a viscous medium.
